It is our pleasure and satisfaction to provide up-dates to the valued and respected guest who have visited Sapana village or our website. We love to inform to all our guests about the present situation of the projects and its involvement in various social and environmental development activities, co-ordinating with branch organizations, Sapana Village Development Center Nepal (SVDCN) and Tharu Dau Women Skill Development Project.

Sapana Village, as a growing project with an ambition to realize an excellent development project, has its main target, “Poverty alleviation”. Our dream is to support poor and needy people of the local community for improving in the fields of education, health, agriculture, environment etc.

Recently conducted activities:

* May 25th 2010 – Informing all our respected guest and supporters, Sapana Village Lodge, in the co-operation of Sapana village Development Center Nepal, has distributed a book of Computer science and pens to 37 students of Chitrasari Secondary School recently. The computer course is operating by Mr. Machhindra Thapaliya and sponsered by Mrs. Joke Van Der Zwaan from Alsmeer, Holland.

* April 26th 27th 2010 – A two days teacher workshop was conducted at Chitrasari Secondary School, jointly organized by Sapana village, SVDCN and Facilitator doctor Sumita Bhattacharyya from USA. Teachers from private and government schools were benefited and learn various methods of teaching professions.

* March 2010– The new academic school session has been started and Sapana Village has been supporting many poor kids at various private schools. We have increased number of scholarship children by this year.







* April 2010 – It was our pleasure to provide financial support to the families of Kumroj Village Development Committee, whose houses were completely burnt by fire on 6th April 2010. Our target of cash donation is to make their roof of new houses.

* February 2010– Focusing to create a healthy environment, 15 toilets have been constructed in Gothauli Tharu Village in mutual co-operation of Sapana village and A Dutch lady named Joke. Sapana village Development Center Nepal (SVDCN) had its active involvement in this project where local people are benefited.




Tharu Dau Women Skills Development Project:

38 Tharu women working for Tharu Dau Women Skills Development Project are earning for their families. They make local Handicrafts make by fabrics which have internal and external markets. Social activities are performed.

Along with the co-ordination of various projects like Sapana Village Development Centre, Nepal, Tharu Dau Women Skills Development Project, Sapana Village Lodge and respected European personalities, we have been served for the development of local people and communities.


* March 2010– Co-project, Tharu Dau Women Skill Development Project has started to construct a small building as their work place. They are really thankful for financial support of Return to Sender and Femi foundation, Netherlands. These women were able to organize a meeting with member and designers of Fair trade shop, Holland.


Some Other Projects:

* clean drinking water system, toilets and hand-washing are provided to shree Chitrasari Secondary School.
* New roofs and toilets are given to Badrani Primary School.
* Toilets and hand-pumps are provided in Majhi Village near chitrasary.


Medical Camp conducted by MCC and SVDCN:
Free Medical Camps were set up from 1st November 2009 to 6th November and 1264 no. of Children visited the Camps along with their parents. The program was conducted and helped by Medical Checks for Children (MCC) Netherlands and co-operated by Sapana village development center (SVDCN) www.sapanavillage.org







Education Development Projects:

Sapana School is our next target project, hopefully to run from May 2011. With the slogan of "THEIR FUTURE IS OUR FUTURE" we are stepping ahead with the clear mission and vision of Sapana School which is going to build near by Sapana Village Lodge to provide the 21st Century education system to the Children.






September 10,2008:

Sapana Village: Recently, Sapana village family observed a lack of facilities to cross small river where rural people need a natural bamboo bridge to get river for washing clothes, swimming and fishing. That is also usable for the Sapana guests to get river for washing an elephant and others villagers to watch and enjoy the activities.

July 12, 2008:
Sapana village family start trend on organic agriculture, the purpose of this program is to show the example for society to prove, it is possible to grow nice food with out using chemical fertilizer.

July. 3, 2008:
Dutch actress “Katja Schuurman” from Holland visited Sapana lodge. She enjoyed her staying in our lodge for 4 nights and 5 days incluidng some elephant bath program.

     

Jan. 22, 2009:
Sapana village lodge family (staffs) clean whole Sauraha garbage (plastic, polluted rubbishes etc.) including locals community by exchanging ideas how to keep village clean and healthy after keeping garbage in proper place.
