I was used for carrying people, wood and other heavy loads. I was deprived from my mother’s milk when I was a young girl as I was separated from my mother at a young age. This has caused a calcium deficiency and therefore my bones have been weak, and my legs are not straight; they bend in the wrong direction permanently. I was fortunate to be brought to Sapana Village Lodge. It has been 2 years since I started living here. The birds, the trees and everyone around me are friendly. Walking in the fields and bathing is very relaxing. My caretaker’s name is “Hemlaal”. I have a lot of friends here who share a similar past of cruelty and domination, but that hasn’t stopped us from living a joyous and wonderful life at Sapana Village Lodge, grazing and bathing together. We experience the kindness of our human friends from the Lodge. I am very thankful to Dhruba, Lena, Donna and their organizations for bringing me here and giving me a new life in a such a wonderful place. You can see me resting at my shelter and you may even get a chance to see my new born in the distant future when we meet again. Untill then I will be waiting for you at Sapana Lodge.
