Our umbrella organization, “Sapana Village Social Impact” has started an inspiring project in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, ward 1, Chitwan to bring social and economical changes in life of local people mostly Chepang and other ethnic groups. With its slogan “Every Venture Starts with a Dream”, the three years project involves local people in various income generation programs and awareness activities through educational practices. The mission is to motivate people to realize that they bring their own changes for better living participating in different rewards winning competitions throughout the project period. The project will be implemented among the 480 households of Ichchhakamna’s ward 1. FEMI Foundation, Netherlands is the co-partner of SVSI for financial contribution.

The opening ceremony of the project today was conducted at the presence of Mrs. Geeta Gurung, the Chairman of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan as the chief guest. Others added great value with their speeches at the event were SVSI board of directors Mr. Dhruba Giri, Sajan Ram Bhandari and Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, REBAN vice-president Mr. Kapil Regmi, principals of government schools, journalists from newspapers and social medias. “Local people of the areas are extremely happy and hopeful for good changes in their villages”, says a local leader who gave a short speech to thank the organizers. The program director Mr. Sujan Basnet of SVSI was the program operator who briefed the about the mission and vision of the project.
