Sapana Village Lodge has its own elephant sanctuary where we keep elephants retired from jungle safari in a chain free coral. We have a daily grazing schedule for our elephants near the lodge where we feed them in the morning and in the evening. We support animal rights and we only practice elephant friendly activities like elephant candy making, elephant feeding and elephant day care.
In Elephant candy making activity Guests can participate in a hands-on workshop where they will learn how to make traditional elephant candy using natural ingredients such as jaggery and sesame seeds. Guests can watch a demonstration of how traditional elephant candy is made by the local villagers and learn about the history and cultural significance of the candy. After making candy they can participate in feeding the elephants as a way to learn about elephant behavior and conservation efforts.
